Here's my best shot....
1. When I am dieting, I become obsessed with reading food blogs. I mean really obsessed. I am trying to lose 15.5 pounds right now so every night I read food blogs and try to taste the food in my mouth! My favorite is Pioneer Woman Cooks. She is the best! Cupcakes are the best/worst for me. When I see a picture of a pretty cupcake, I want to shove my face in it! I'm sure, to most, it seems like it would be torture to read food blogs but the pretending makes me feel better! I must come by it naturally because my mom says she reads Taste of Home when she is dieting! Food blogs have replaced the little Pillsbury recipe books by the checkout stand at the grocery store for me, I used to buy one every time I went through the checkout! I like the pictures!

2. Every time I hear the Star Spangled Banner or the Pledge of Allegiance i get choked up. The worst is when my students say it or sing it! I have to mentally go somewhere else or I'll cry like a baby! It's such a powerful song, and to hear kids sing it is too much for me to handle!

3. I have shared a stage with Britney and Justin. True story! Granted, it was the Mickey Mouse Club stage but we soooo danced together! My friend Amanda and I LOVED the Mickey Mouse Club back in the day. She had Disney Channel (I did not!) so we watched it at her house every day after school. Going to MGM to see a taping of the show was like a visit to the holy land for us! Imagine our delight when we got to dance to the closing song with Britney, Justin, and the rest of the MMC'ers!!! I sill get excited thinking about it! We got kicked out shortly after the show ended (slight mix up with security ;) and had to spend the rest of the day sitting outside of the park waiting for my parents who were at Epcot but it was well worth it! The next time I run into Britney sitting outside of the Summit crying with her dog in her lap, I'll remind her of the happier times we spent together!

4. American Idol is VERY serious to me. I actually get mad at people who do not agree with my assessment of the contestants! How could anyone disagree with me?? Seriously though, talking about American Idol for me is like talking about politics to most people. It gets way too heated! The year that Elliott was a contestant was probably the worst for me. I was determined to make him the winner! In fact, I am pretty sure it was because of me that he beat out Chris Daughtry. The night before, I was voting on 3 phones for 2 hours AND figured out you could IM your votes using the relay service for the hearing impaired! Now that's low, even for me! I actually hate when they open the voting to 4 hours because I feel an obligation to sit on the phone the entire time. It's my responsibility as a voter! What can I say? I believe in the democratic process!

5. I love bags. I mean really love bags. And shoes. And clothes. And definitely sunglasses. I was reading a book last night and the character said, "I have champagne taste and beer pockets," and I realized that is totally me! I can seriously waste hours upon hours reading fashion blogs and scouring my favorite stores online. In fact, last week I saw the movie Penelope and to let you know exactly how boring it was (sorry Melissa!) I was looking for my favorite Tom Ford sunglasses on Ebay during the movie! Most of the stuff that I dream about is so far beyond my budget it is not even funny but it's fun to dream, none the less! I am not down with knock-offs either. I can't do it anymore. I've gone to the dark side and there is no coming back!

P.S. If you have not read People:Style Watch yet, you must! One of the highlights of my month is when the new issue comes out. Most of you probably think my favorite magazine is US, but contraire! People:Style Watch and Lucky are my Heaven on Earth!

So there you have it, 5 not so quirky things about me! Now do I get to inflict pain and undue stress on someone else by tagging them? I wish I could tag Jaimi but she is too lazy to make a blog! I am tagging her anyway in hopes it will make her feel obligated to blog!

you are funny! i was wondering if you were ever going to post this! your food blog reading thing I never knew about. Funny that you mentioned your mom because my mom told me she is the same way I am with throwing mascara, etc. away before it is 100% gone.
I'm surprise you didn't put anything about your dating quirks:) or how about the thing you do with your arms when looking in the mirror....do you still do that? :)
I'm glad you are trying to get Jaimi do a blog!! She needs to join the club!
