Preston came to my class yesterday to talk to the kids about his job and saying no to drugs and I think he might actually be a better teacher than me! He was so good with the kids and he gave them little badges that were officially the coolest thing to hit the 5th grade.
The kids had me take tons of pictures of them in all his gear and I so wish I could post them! Hilarious! I just can't get over how sweet he was to come talk to them. He even took a vacation day to do it! The kids were so excited when I told them he was coming and they haven't stopped talking about him since. Preston is pretty much a super hero in room 21. A few hours before he came, I told the kids we had gotten engaged over the weekend and they seriously flipped OUT. They were literally screaming. Maybe not the best thing to tell them first thing in the morning! They decided though that they like my last name better and he should change his name to Preston Blankenship. I had to tell them that was a no-go :)
