A few weeks ago, my cute neighbor
Jenny, brought over some flowers left over from a friend's wedding. I was instantly obsessed with the flowers on the left. Have you ever seen them before? I had not. They're called Billy Buttons and I'm pretty sure nothing quite as cute will ever grace my kitchen table again. They lasted several weeks and I was so sad when they finally kicked the bucket.
I have looked all over the place for some more to no avail. I even searched the internet for artificials but they are seriously nowhere to be found.
The other night as I was googling Billy Buttons, I came across a
blogger who had also fallen in love with them and came up with an uber-creative DIY!
She used these natural fillers from Joann's and wooden skewers...

...to make this!

How cute is that?
I immediately went to Joann and attempted my own.

I might really like the ones I made if I hadn't seen hers first. I need a bigger vase so I can make more but I used what I had on hand!

I think they look good in that vase - you'd just have to cut the skewers a bit shorter to get the scale right. I wonder how they'd look spray painted a brighter color?
Ooh. I like.
I totally love them! I like them in the smaller vase!
Weren't they up on your shelf I noticed yesterday?
