Surreal doesn't even begin to describe the experience. I had perma-grin the entire time! As we were leaving the studio, Karli and I decided we could die totally happy now...we have achieved everything we have ever wanted in life ;)
Jaimi, Karli, Ann-Marie, and I met up with our new Idol BFF's, Mikelle and Rachel, at CBS studios around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, prepared to sit in line for the better part of the day to see our favorite AI judges and contestants! (Poor Scott had to work!)
This is us waiting in line, making signs...
We were only in line for an hour or so when Mike, our AI boyfriend/audience coordinator, asked us if we wanted to go to the TV Guide "Idol Tonight" taping before the results show started.
When we got to the "Idol Tonight" holding area, one of the producers asked if anyone was a David Cook fan. When I stood up and screamed, she ran over to me and told me they wanted to interview me on air. Why I agreed to this is still beyond me! Kimberly Caldwell, a season 2 contestant, would be interviewing me. The producer needed someone to talk about Christy Lee Cook, and since I did not want to be in this alone, I volunteered Jaimi :) The interviews were hilarious/humiliating. The producers made me propose to David Cook on the air!!! It's showing on the TV Guide channel all week, so if you have always wanted to see me humiliate myself, please tune in!
I took a few pictures of the show playing on our tv this afternoon. They're not the greatest quality, but you get the idea!
After "Idol Tonight," we were led in to the AI studio for the results show taping. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. It was completely insane standing in front of the Idol stage! The new stage is ginormous and totally overwhelming. And "Hot Mike" ended up being the best hook up ever! When our group of six girls walked in to the studio, one of the audience coordinators radioed Mike and announced the "group" was there and we were placed right next to the jusges' table, on Randy Jackson's side!
We got to talk to all of the judges and shake their hands! Simon's hands were so soft! When Simon shook my hand I said, "Simy, you're sexy!" and then Mikelle told him I want to marry him. His reply? "I'm too old for you!" So funny!! Randy Jackson even told us we were crazy!
When all of the idols came on stage, they were literally sitting a few feet from us. I yelled to David Cook, "I love you, David Cook!" and he smiled and waved at me. It was a MOMENT!!! AND later, when they left the stage, he waved at me!! See? L-O-V-E. We taked to David Archuleta's parents and his dad was super excited that we went to BYU too! Oh! I also talked to Michael Johns' wife and told her that I am so jealous that she is married to a hot Aussie! She was so nice and I told her that I would like to hate her, but she was too cute to hate! I loved her!
If you look reeeally closely, you can see me in the audience just to the left of Randy Jackson. I am pretty easy to spot with my blonde hair and red shirt. Again, I took a few pictures of the tv, but these are SUPER hard to see.
In the first one, I am just behind a girl in a yellow shirt with dark hair (that's Rachel!) In the second picture, you can totally see Karli, Rachekl, and Mikelle as Kelly Pickler walks by us! The big, hairy security guard is blocking me and Jaimi in the picture :( In the third picture, you can see me clapping in the lower left hand corner!
And you know on our way out, we bought Idol shirts to commemorate the single, happiest day of my life!
I can not even begin to express how amazing my American Idol experience was! It truly was the be all, end all for me. I felt like I was having an out of body experience! I am changed forever!
P.S. David Cook is such a gentleman! He helped every single one of the girls to their seats and after he was told he was safe, he sat down on the bench and got really choked up!! I thought I loved him before Wednesday, but now I know I do! He really impressed everyone in the audience. He was just so overwhelmed with everything. Don't listen to Simon, he is so not smug. He's misunderstood!
P.P.S. Stay tuned for the mother of all OC posts...we went on a major OC tour yesterday. I am too exhausted to post anything else tonight!

Wow! What a chance of a lifetime! From your shared experience it's no doubt a life's dream fulfilled! Tired or not, hurry up with the OC Tour...can't wait to enjoy that posting too!
When did you meet Michael Johns' wife? And how did I miss that?!
It would be hilarious that I have a stalker, except for they are the "mean-bully kind." :) Total beast he/she is. Ha!
I loved reading your Idol blog- it sounds like you had an absolute blast! You finally got your red carpet interview!! Bitchin!
How exciting! I was recovering in lala land on some serious pain medication when Idol was on, but I remember waking up and hearing it on TV in the other room and thinking about you! Isn't that funny!
