When my parents were here over the holidays, they left a book for me to read called, Good Dog. Stay. by Anna Quindlen.
Well the "cute" little book my mom said I HAD to read resulted in me in tears on my sofa last night! The book is about the author's
old labrador retriever and it actually is a sweet story but a little more than I could handle! I won't spoil it for you but I'm sure you know where it's going seeing as how I ended up in hysterics!
Sweet little (ok ginormous-who are we kidding?) Rusty is almost 15 now and it made me so sad to think of him not being with our family some day. He really is the best dog ever. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Roxy, but Rusty can not be replaced!
Jaimi and I had so much fun living with Rusty while my parents were in England. He stole our pizza (along with Jaimi's sandwich) and always had the worst gas in the world but he was a serious guy magnet! I really laugh out loud to myself remembering Rusty at San Marcos ward prayer every Sunday panting his way through the prayer and nudging everyone who had their head bowed! My favorite part though was that Brother Niemela always announced ward prayer by saying it was at Rusty's house. He was the one everyone came to see after all!
Rusty let us dress him up for football games and one day when I was on my DEATH BED sick with food poisoning, he layed right next to me for 14 hours with his head on my chest and never once bugged me to let him out or feed him. Now that is a quality man!
Everyone that knows Rusty loves him to pieces (including Katie-he is still your boyfriend!) and yes, I am a psycho dog person, but he is so special. Everyone should have a Rusty!

OH my gosh San Marcos Ward Prayer...totally forgot about that one. How funny.
He is my boyfriend and Jon is okay with that...well, he doesn't really know but he has to be okay with it! Rusty is even sexier now with his gray hair! It's very George Clooney! There will never be another Rusty!!
