A happy 4th to you!

I love the 4th of July and Huntington Beach does it right! Let me tell you, these people are SERIOUS about Independence Day. I've never seen anything like it! Here's an an analogy for you.... Huntington Beach is to the 4th of July what Mardi Gras is to New Orleans. Seriously.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, comes out for the parade and you bet people were dressed to impressed. By dressed to impress, I mean American flag bikinis and Uncle Sam hats galore.

Our new ward had a barbeque at a member's house right on Main Street so we had prime seating and the food was fantastic! The funniest thing I've ever seen was Preston's eyes following a plate of tri-tip passing by :)

The parade was so hometown and cute. I loved every minute of it! The best was seeing everyone out on their pimped out beach cruisers. We even saw one with red Christmas lights strung through it!

The Shriners were my favorite. They were truly popping wheelies! I was a little afraid for their pacemakers but everything seemed to work out ok.

We're still not sure why this guy was running through the streets in those shorts and an afro wig but we took a picture of his bum, nonetheless :)

After the parade, we spent the rest of the day on the beach (Aww, rough life, huh?) and hit Dairy Queen for dipped cones before the fireworks off the pier. I can't even express how completely perfect our day was. A girl could get used to this! So if they don't already, I really think your 2010 Independence Day plans should include Huntington Beach!
